The Deep and Snowy Wood by Elwyn Tate

Rating

Review

The Deep and Snowy Wood by Elwyn Tate is a beautifully illustrated picture book made especially it seems for a setting where the fire is blazing and the kids are gathered round. It’s fairly short, coming in at twenty-four pages or so, with poetic verses on each page that won’t take long to read through at all. You’ll likely find yourself staying on each page a while longer, though, to admire Tate’s creative art.

The Deep and Snowy Wood is recommended for children ages 2 and up. The artwork will fascinate younger children, while the story of an approaching sleigh bearing a certain special someone will entice those a little older. This is the kind of book that can easily become part of your annual holiday traditions.
