This final book in the A Man of His Word series should have ended with a bang. Instead, it was barely a fizzle. A good series, but not great, and not one I would say is a must-read.
Perilous Seas accelerates the pace of the series with some of the best storytelling and character development to date.
Overall a slow read with some confusing plotlines which is saved by some good character building and the promise of the larger story forming for our two main characters.
A slow start to the series with minimal character development, I'm nevertheless giving this one three rockets because it does build a good foundation for the remainder of the series.
A fun read with an ending that didn't quite satisfy. However, Duncan delights anyway with a likeable main character and enough twists to keep things interesting.
Lord of the Fire Lands by Dave Duncan continues the story begun in The Gilded Chain and ends with a twist that so surprised me I didn't wait long to pick up the next in the series. Duncan continues to impress!
A fun adventure full of colorful characters, intrigue, magic, and, of course, the King's Blades.
The third installment in Dave Duncan's Venetian fantasy/mystery series finds Nostradamus and his apprentice, Alfeo, attempting to solve a string of murders that may result in the death of the woman Alfeo loves if they fail. Duncan delivers another gripping tale!
The Alchemist's Code is a well-written, enjoyable read, full of mystery, intrigue, and action. The 2nd book in the Alchemist series is a must-read.
Red Country is a strong addition to Joe Abercrombie’s body of work.
Slaying the Dragon is an insightful and well-researched account of the history of Dungeons & Dragons.
Best Served Cold is a masterful exploration of vengeance and its consequences.
The Face of Chaos continues to deliver the gritty, morally complex stories that fans of the Thieves’ World series have come to love.
Last Argument of Kings is a thrilling conclusion to Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy.
Before They Are Hanged is a solid follow-up to The Blade Itself.
A rich and immersive experience.
The film’s philosophical depth makes it a memorable, if imperfect, addition to the sci-fi genre.
Blood of Assassins solidifies RJ Barker’s status as a notable voice in contemporary fantasy.
Age of Assassins is for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted mystery wrapped in a fantasy setting.
